Better living through procrastination. For the past several weeks, the RSS feed for the mozillaZine feedHouse has been busted over at newsninja. I'm not entirely sure why, but it hasn't been picking up new articles, and I haven't had time to examine it thoroughly. As best I can surmise, it's due to the mysterious "last updated" field of an RSS feed that isn't in the actual feed but does exist, which newsninja checks before bothering to cache new articles. It's probably set to something in the future, or something else that's randomly fucked. Anyway, I haven't had time to mess with it because of things.
Two weeks ago it was . . something. I can't remember what it was I was doing, but it was important. Last weekend it was reviews. I had put off the whole review system overhaul at Directional Pad for far too long, it had to get done. It did, but it ate most of my weekend. Okami ate the rest of it. So I've been doing my best to ignore the large non-functional green block on my homepage for weeks, and having nightmares about this project I still don't understand the inner workings of grinding to a halt while I sleep. It's been fun.
But what was I greeted with today? Suddenly and unexpectedly it started working again. I now have all the new articles cached. I was rewarded by the gods of procrastination for my spectacular job of shirking my duties as an administrator. Go me. [10.04.06@10:55]
I just spent about six minutes participating in a linguistic circle-jerk exploring the metaphor of what I spend a large portion of my time doing as "Working down at the Meme Mines". We could not determine what the rock you find rich veins of memes in would be called. I feel we failed. [10.14.06@22:27]
