for the past 9 years of my life, i've had one good luck charm. or, not so much as a luck charm, as it has been a reminder. it is a small black bit of aluminum with the simple enscription "DON'T PANIC". it has served me well, and has been on my person, attached to my backpack, or - as it is now - on my keychain for almost the entire duration of those 9 years. however, after 9 years, i am finally now starting to think it needs to be changed. i'm not sure if it just needs to be added to or outright replaced, but i know what i need it to say. don't ask for it / go win it on your own / do that and you'll succeed

i hope that 20 years from now i won't be the guy i'm sitting next to here at gate 61 of LAX. he's old, easily mid to late 40's, and he's hunched over eating a cinnabun and playing a [probably awful] game on a PSP. but since i don't see my interest in gaming ever changing, i know deep down that yes, i will be this guy some day. i guess i can only hope i will at least maintain my good taste in games, and will never stoop so low as to buy something as lame as the PSP.
