i've been home for nearly a month. in that almost-month, i feel i've accomplished nothing. i feel i'm slowly wasting away here. i do nothing all day but sleep, watch tv, watch anime, and play grand theft auto 3. in my time being home, i have left my house three times. once to go see episode 2 with mikel, sebastian, andre, and isaac [and subsequently wander aimlessly around south tampa], once to purchase a new keyboard, thermal silver compound, and a monitor, and one time to waste time over at k'vns place. this . . really isn't good. hopefully i'll feel a bit better when i start doing some more work.

in other news, mtv's i bet you will is quite possibly the most awful show ever produced. that that's really about all it comes down to. and i think i might have just lost my internet connection, but i can't tell.

speaking of mtv, i've been re-acclimating myself to "pop music" through the wonderful* medium of music videos. i stumbled upon an artist by the name of avril. first off, what the fuck kind of name is avril? personally, i think someone was just spelling out april, and horribly mis-pronounced the p. the music isn't all that bad, it's in that weird limbo between punk and pop, but made shiny and clean, and sung by this dipshit. as for her image, i have several complaints with it. i'll leave my arguments to two screencaps from her video. exhibit a. exhibit b. she's just . . . wrong. wrong. wrong. wrong.

while i'm just randomly hitting topics, why the hell does audio editing take so fucking long? i have a rather high-end computer, actually quite high-end now that i have a geforce 4. so if i have this nice fast computer, why the hell does audio editing take so long? it takes 5-6 minutes to take a 6 minute waveform selection from a large waveform, copy it, cut it from the large form, paste it as a new wave, and save it. then another 3 minutes to convert to --alt-preset vbr mp3. this bugs me a lot, because it's the only thing i can think of anymore that really takes time, save something like compiling levels for jedi outcast.

in other-other-news, this show tail-daters on mtv is quality. it's a generic mtv "OMG TEH DATING!11" show, but with several friends from both parties commenting on the date live. and the friends get to harass the people via SMS, also live. it's hilarious so far, because the friends have done nothing but complain about how much of an ass the guy is being, or how slutty the girl is being, and it's all just quality. everyone involved is either frustrated, appauled, or an asshole. it makes for WONDERFUL television programming. i think i'm going to wrap this up now, and try to hunt down some food. in my livingroom, there are enough clocks within earshot to feel like you can percieve time just . . . going. there's one up on the mantle, one over on the planter, one on the bookshelf, one on the wall in the gameroom, and two watches also up on the planter. some of them tick in sync with eachother, others don't. they seem to line up at around every third of a second. so per second you hear six ticks, but can only make out three. all the ticking makes it seem like time is moving a bit faster than it should. it's quite disconcerting.

but then i just turn the television up and cnn drowns out the icky timekeepers. [06.12.02@19:01]

neverwinter nights, anime i've been neglecting, or law & order. why must i be forced to make such difficult decisions? [06.25.02@21:28]
