mlah. i'm running out of things to do. now that i've got essentially two hours of ja daily, i'm actually doing my work [gasp!], and i'm *really* running out of stuff to do. currently, the only two projects i've got in the works are a) my new font 'kibbles-n-blix', and b) my spiffy c++ hangman program. both of which look like they're going to take awhile.

with kibbles-n-blix, so far i'm averaging around two or three glyphs per half hour. and its just so damn tedious. the hangman proggie shouldnt really take that long, it'll just take a few minutes of messing about with apstrings, arrays, and for loops.. then a wacky for loop to make the nice man.

as for things i've finished, i tossed the css together for matt's site, did research for my new athlon system, and also did the design and wrote the content for the alt.foo site. also made it to level 275 of blix, installed the new version of psp, and got a ton of gameplay movies of legend of mana.. mm.. i cant wait for that game.. that game is going to seriously rock.. i just know i'm going to be spending a ton of time over at k'vns place playing that thing two-player.. for future refrence, i call the rabbite.. cause i just see something inherently wrong with bouncing around as a little yellow limbless thing. just a small update for toni^H^H^H^Hthismorning. first off, i'm giving up on kibbles 'n blix for awhile. i got to a point where i could compile it, but it just didnt come out right, and will most likely require some severe re-re-tweaking to get it working the way i want it to. with that out of the way, we can move on to the events from the week.

this week was pretty non-eventful. this was mainly because it was a short week at school. furthermore because on monday night at around six, my back decided it wasnt going anywhere. it kept deciding it wasnt going anywhere untill around wednesday. so for two days i got to read, and listen to lots and lots of music. i watched some tv, but daytime tv just disturbs me. its just not good anymore. there arent enough cheezey gameshows. i miss those. they seemed to be plentiful in the late 80's/early 90's.. now the only gameshows around are the lame quiz shows, and eternal ones like the price is right, wheel of fortune, and jeopardy. but ones like wheel of fortune and jeopardy are pathetic now aswell. i mean, really. its sad when i can sit here and solve the puzzle after three letters have been called. or be able to clean out most of the jeopardy board without really straining myself. jeopardy is supposed to be the kind of game where you dont know the answer because you arent expected to be on the same intellectual level as the guy who's been in the champion's chair so long that he's left a dent..

so i was out half the week. the two days i *was* around, k'vn wasnt. this was just kinna weird. i think we both just happened to pick the same week to be sick, just not on the same days.

wednesday night i found out that isaac had a copy of the sims. coincidentally, when i saw the sims at best buy last weekend my thought process went from 'do i have enough cash for this?' to 'wasnt there a rebate?' to 'i wonder when isaac will get the warez version?'. so wednesday night i leeched it, and thursday afternoon i became horribly addicted. later i'll post pictures of when the sim-inpheaux accidentally set the kitchen on fire. muh. sim-inpheaux is one of the absolute coolest sims known to mankind. he's just so much of a loser. his days are almost as eventful as mine. so far, his average day consists of wake up at noon, get food, take nap on giant green couch, play videogames, paint something, read a few books, get more food, take another nap on the neon-green couch, watch tv, play more video games, read another few books, go to sleep. i make him look for a job every other day. so far he's only been offered a life of crime once. he turned it down because it didnt pay as much as he'd like it to. hopefully i'll hit a day when they offer some semblance of a webdesign job. then i can truly screw things up. my longterm goal for the sims, is to make essentially everyone from the local group, and cram them all into the big $40,000 sim house. just to see what happens. and yes, andre still gets to be the aquarium owner.

ah, but that only covers through thursday. see, we had today off. last night [between several hours of the sims] i called a local place around here that was selling an athlon barebones system for $500. i figured that this would be the best deal i'd beable to get for awhile, so i asked what i could do to soup it up a bit more. they gave me a list of assorted things i could add, and how i could kick it up to an athlon600 rather cheaply. they said they'd need a downpayment to start working on it, and so i told them i'd be by today, ur, yesterday. so at around eleven, i wandered over to computer parts and upgrades[hereinafter cpu], and told them what i wanted. they said they could prolly have the system done by 19:00. i was fine with that, payed my whopping $20 downpayment, and went on my merry way.

seven hours later, i call over there, and they say that its just about done . about 30 minutes of waiting, and i was out the door with my shiney new computer. tossed some new ram in there, moved over the video card and hd from my old comp, tossed a new nic in, and booted it up. few minor problems, like forgetting to set the hard drive back to standard from master, and some minor issues with convincing my sblive to not be crazy. overall, its working fine now. mm. and since iggy asked for this earlier, here are some shiney happy specs for the system:

mobo: asus k7m
chip: athlon 600
ram: 64 meg pc100 [will be 128 shortly]
video: diamond monster fusion pci
hd: 13 gig
sound: sblive x-gamer
everything else is really irrellevant. mm.. but its a *damn big* jump from a k6 233 to an athlon 600. reeeely big jump.. reely reeely big.. anyways, enough of this. i need some sleep badly. my eyes have been horribly bloodshot all day.. and staying up till three isnt helping it.. [02.12.00@02:37]

lets see here. i'm writing this on a computer i've been lusting after for months, yet it hasnt made a dent in my depression. it sucks that i cant convince mah poor brane to just sit back and realize that yeah, sucky things may be going on over in this section of your life, but look! you've got a shiney new computer! go play with the computer! ignore yucky problems! but neh, i dunt work leik that. mm.. off i go.
