alright, new year, fresh start. ive updated quite a few things around here today.. first, ive archived the news.. [side note, does this quote from a wal-mart commercial disturb anyone else? 'i like colors that go together', back to the subject].. ive also changed the setup of the archive pages so you can either go back to the main rant page, or back to the archive.. lets see now, ive also added 3 more logos, mostly for good measure...
now, what to expect from the desk of everyone's favorite digital enigma in 99.. this year ive got big plans for the i.d.w... i forsee one possible final move before a domain.. in this time, i also have 2 new phases planned (we're up to phase.v right now, if you didnt know), and *maybe* another redesign.. after the domain, i have *major* plans. including a fullscale redesign, and one thing im not talking about just yet.. lets just say it'll be a big payoff for those of you who have been avid visitors...
in other news, a set of events have transpired that i can only describe as net.destiny.. i have found the address of the official home of douglas adams, author of the hitchikers guide to the galaxy. his official site, then directed me to the alt.fan.douglasadams faq, which in turn informed me of this. there is going to be a new hhgttg movie. i repeat, there is going to be a new hhgttg movie. now, this just plain kicks ass. it gives me something to look forward to in what most of the world thinks is the first year of the new milennium. grrr. why cant xoom just play nice and let me upload stuff. see, because of this, the rant i finished on the 8th, wont get read for awhile... anyways, im in the midst of yet another transition. swankarmy.net is back up, and im just waiting to go into bootcamp for there.. after that i will officially be in my element.. now, i *also* have a possibility of getting on freespeech.org, even though my nice killfile nuked the original message.. that *should* partially bring back the currently scrapped phase 5, even though we're already kinda in phase 6.. anyways, theres a bunch of other stuff going on... first off, im going to have some more fodder for photomanipulation, since i currently have instant access to the photolab at school...i think i'll have fun mangling a pikChuRE of rachel.. that should be interesting...
in other news, ive finally gotten around to signing up for drivers ed.. im having a bit to much fun in there.. the teacher ive got for it is a senile old coach, who thinks everything he says is absolutely hilarious.. now, i know this is expected from coaches, but then, i really dont care. so ive got a teacher that is patheticly easy to mess with... the course itself is by far one of the most pathetic courses ive ever taken.. mainly because its like if there were tests in tech studies... i mean, its exactly like tech studies with tests.. we watch videos, mostly of people getting maimed in one way or another, and then take easy tests..
the tests have to be one of the most hilarious parts of it.. the one we were dealing with today was a 40 question thing about traffic laws.. now only did they mis-spell traffic (taraffic), but they also mis spelled other randomly easy junk... then there were the actuall questions.. like, if youre at a stop light, what should you do?
a)stop
b)come to a rolling stop, and then slam on the gas
c)disregard pedestrians
d)signal left
and then there was the sign test.. that was also rather hilarious.. things like a big red&white triangle, that says YEILD means that you need to YEILD! unfortunately for k'vn, they didnt have the 'slow children' sign. thus, people will not know to stop and laugh at k'vn when they see the slow children sign, because they wont know how to read the sign that clearly says SLOW CHILDREN.

and to xoom, i say welcome to my list of servers from which the i.d.w has jumped ship... now, again, this is a good move... im over at freespeech.org, where ive got access to realmedia hosting.. so if i want to, i can post stuff.. anyways, this also means that my site can be accessed from quite a few more places, since its on a server thats not blocked by most net-restriction software (yes fellow ib'ers, this means you can check out my daily insanity whilst at school)... alright, this means we're one step closer to being a liberated site... actually, the i.d.w. is *already* a liberated site, since now im not on any of the major free hosts... now i just have to flow to my element (soon as they update swankarmy.net), and eventually set up a post of my own... which reminds me.. i need to go start working on i.d.w.|mk:vii... yes, i finally got around to making my own font... to your left, is a breif example of skifyre extra normal. why extra normal? well, its because its my handwriting if i was completely calm, and took time making every letter... eventually i'll make skifyre normal, which will be my average handwriting (in pilot pen, extra normal was with sharpie).. and just for really twisted stuff, im making 'skifyre incomprehensible', which will look like my notes... k'vn, yisoreal, and perhaps rachel can explain how 'skifyre incomprehensible' will look... it'll be the one that requires the 'sEEkRit D3koDer rInG' to make any sense of it...
im not sure if these will ever be released to the public, due to the socioethical implications that may insue... i mean, my handwriting is one of the most unique things about me...

good news and bad news... good news first.. i finished my second font a few min ago... name is skifyre refracted, and it has now replaced skifyre extra normal as the menu bar font... why? because i like this font better.. its skinnier, and therefore more like my actual handwriting... i threw it together last night and today.. wrote up half of the glyphs last night whilst watching conan, and finished them thismorning during the saturday morning cartoons...
now for the bad news.. yesterday i got word that k'vn decided to do something stupid like playing football at his youth group meeting last night.. needless to say, k'vn isnt exactly a great football player, and is also a bit too tall for football.. results are sketchy cause i had to get this info from tara last night, but something about him busting up his kneecap pretty badly and ending up in the hospital..anyways, this effects me two fold.. one, because he's my friend.. and two because he's my ride home from skool.. now, if he's gonna be out of commission for a few days, that means that inph gets to ride home on the bus.. and since inph's fake girlfriend rides the bus, things are probably going to get much more complex next week..

yay! accomplishments!.. as of thismorning, ive finished a few things... first, ive added another 5 logos.. 3 from 2001, and 2 from a radiohead song.. second, ive finally updated my bio to have a detailed explanation of my handle, and some influences.. yes, those 4 pages really took me over 24 hours to create...
aside from that, i finally got around to beating zelda64. i managed to get everything except the second quiver, two of the cheezey upgrades (deku sticks & nuts), and the gold rupee for 100 skultatas... was i the only one out there that wanted an ending sequence like in zelda: link to the past? showing how all the places youve visited turned out after you fixed them? anyways, i did all of that with only 14 deaths...so, yes.. zelda no longer ownz me..
on a final good note, k'vn is fine now. according to a report from him (granted he was a tad bit sedated at the time) he busted his knee cap, and in the process dislocated his leg from the shin down. the nice doctors gassed him, put his leg back together, and gave him some pretty painkillers. what does this mean? it means i have access to painkillers, *and* access to the elevators at school...it also means i wont have to deal with any odd moments on the bus..
now, im off to go finish up this terry pratchet book..later today i'll update the art section with 2 new works.. one that i just finished for neal's b-day, and the other being the soon-to-be-award-winning untitled digital art piece... [01.17.99@00:45]
mi vida es loca, over and over, my life turns on a dime. on another note, as expected the information i got from tara regarding k'vns always-fun massive leg injury was incorrect. i now have the correct story, which i just lifted from k'vns rant that hes currently composing on the cheeeezey computer to my right. according to that, he was attempting an axe kick, for no specific reason. he had his left leg as the ancor, and when he kicked, his left knee decided that it had a boring life stuck to his leg, and decided to leave.. the moral of the story, is that now inph gets to be late to whatever classes he wants, and gets to ride up and down the elelator over and over and over and over... anyways, since i was busy doing stuff yesterday, i never got to write up all the wonderfully interesting stuff tat occured yesterday..
first after skoool, lux decided to show up in k'vns van for some, yet-to-be-explained reason. we dont question it. anyways, since we then had three people, who were rather hungry, decided to go past cool mo's coffee for some cappuccino smoothies.. they had changed location from their k-spiff double-decker bus, to a small building behind the bus.. anyways, i know that buildings rather old, and when they started the 7 blenders to make the smoothes for random peoples, it kept shorting out the main fuse at the circuitbreaker.. so like, every 2 minutes they'd have to go outside, flip the breaker, go back inside, turn on the blender, short out the fuse, rinse& repeat. so that took a good 20 minutes for 4 smoothies. from there, we decided to go back to k'vns place to play some goldeneye, since they knew there'd be plenty of fodder with 4 players.
this made it my 4th or 5th time ever playing goldeneye, i was never good with it.. i just dont like the concept of having the trigger button in my left hand.. kept accidentally hitting r hoping for the gun to go off...anyways, i started off as oddjob(cause hes easy to differintiate), cause it was me, jeff (k'vns impish litle brother), and lux vs k'vn.. k'vn, naturally, won.. i luckily got some good kills on him tho.. like when i found the dostovie, and kept getting head shots on k'vn... i like the dostovie.. the dostovie is my friend.. its shiney..
eventually, we played a few games with capture the flag on, with golden guns, so when jeff got the flag, we just blasted the living hell outta him... oh, then there was about halfway thru one game, when k'vn decided to stick next to a wall, and hide for half the game.. he had one of the darker skins, so he just kinda hid in the shadows.. i eventually chased after him, and broke out the laser.. then k'vn fell down and died.. a few times..
halfway thru another game of it, i got bored and so did lux, so we just had a slapfest.. apparently, we had both gotten the body armor so it took quite awhile.. i got about 3 kills the entire day with nothin but my deadly kung fu griptm
anyways, by the time it was all over, i had accumulated such awards as 'mostly harmless' and 'lemming award' and 'wheres the armor', most of these i was very proud of, especially the several games when i had preferred weapon as bare hands..
anyways, later tonight im gonna upload some more art (spooooon!) and also release the fonts onto the public.. [01.20.99@13:42]
dont ask me, i just work here... damnit.. why'd tha feds have to crack down on lyrics.ch?! they werent hurting anyone! anyways... im not sure what else to say... for about a week now i havent been able to piece many thoughts together online... i dont know, i guess tis because my mind has been drifting elsewhere, mostly towards real life... oh well..
thursday is another one of the always-fun cpu club game days... now, hopefully this time i'll get a better setup in starcraft... hopefully, i'll also be teamed up with k'vn, so we can have me create the diversion, while k'vn goes in for the kill... im good at creating diversions...
on another note, ive decided that my cheshire cat needs a name. ive already named my dragon (chubby, ask yisroel).. so now, to make sure the cheshire cat wont feel left out, it'll need a name too. im accepting suggestions. a decision will be made soon as i get a name that sounds good. the pendulum is always in motion. right now, its decided to hit that nice point of freefall on the 'good' side... strangely, i think its going to stay there for awhile...
yes, yes.. i know.. 'whats all this crazy arse stuff inph's blabbing about with pendulums?'.. well, my life can easily be explained as a pendulum. it swings from good, to mediocre, to bad; with random spurts of 'horridly depressing' thrown in for good measure.. now, why is it so good, you say.. well, tis because earlier today the quasi-relationship i was in solidified. yay!..
anyways, the bad part here is that its gonna be tough for me to scrounge up some angst to pour into rants... so, when the rant section runs a bit dry, dont panic.. all good things must come to an end, and when that end shows up i'll have more angst than i'll know what to do with... on the other hand, this should get me to crank out more art than ever before...

hey! its come back to me! i know what i was gonna talk about... after the stuff happened that k'vn and i have agreed not to discuss, he brought up the idea that i should make a clock showing how long ive been in a good mood. its currently taking the place of the sw countdown. dont worry tho, the sw countdown will find an appropriate place eventually...

a few things have recently transpired. first, i found that shoutcast flat out kicks ass. i mean, really. how can you go wrong with streaming cd quality audio, no commercials, and they take requests.. in 5 minutes i found a place that plays all sorts of music i like. their mp3 collection is essentially the same as my cd collection. theyve got a great server, that rarely ever skips, and they run 24/7.. its just plain skitchin...
in other news, ive reached a delimma.. next thursday is rachel&inph's offical 1 week anniversary.. thats a given.. *but* next friday is the technical one month anniversary [refer to the rant that never was]...anyways, im outta stuff to say for now... news shall be archived tomorrow. [01.30.99@21:01]
