Why is it that all of my Sam/Jack fics are drabbles? *ponder* "How's Cass?" "Good." Sam settled down beside him, smiling slightly. "It was a good idea to bring her here." Jack grinned. "I told you." He nudged her. "I can’t believe you actually took off work to come." "It’s easier to leave, these days." Her expression was wistful. Jack regarded her quietly. "You miss it, don’t you?" She hesitated. "I like the work I’m doing now... but yeah. I miss it." She shrugged a little, gazing out over the pond. "Cassie’s worth it, though." After a moment, Jack shifted, sliding an arm around her. She smiled. Resting her head on his shoulder, she murmured, "This is worth it, too."
