So much has happened since then: Jolinar, Dr. Carter, Edora, the za'tarc "incident", Jonah and Thera, the Entity, a half-dozen dead boyfriends, Pete . . . and yet she still dreams about one virus-induced lockerroom encounter from seven years ago. Even now, when his body is locked away in Antarctica and hers is lying next to her boyfriend's. She hears a sigh as the bed shifts. "You're far away again." "Bring me back," she whispers, reaching for him. His kisses are an antidote to remembered fever; the reality of his caresses drive away all thought, all memory of what she can never have.
