The face in the mirror was still her own, but the two years in Atlantis had left their mark. There were new scars. New worry lines. New laugh lines. (She blamed the boys for those.) There was a hardness to her now. A look that spoke of both a surety of self and the knowledge that she would sacrifice all that she was for the sake of her people. Staring into the mirror, she wondered if change was ever a good thing. Arms encircled her waist. A new face appeared next to hers. She smiled. Sometimes, change is definitely a good thing.
