Tension
She walks the
sky,
her lamp held outward.
Wriggling toes
touching the
silken cloth
of dew-drop
oceans.
Playing
Games of
trick-or-treat-
hide-and-seek-
advance-and-retreat-
with her own
reflection.
She lets that,
second her,
touch her for
one second.
One
fraction of
infinity,
and knows
that she is lost.
Knows that
she will sink
below that wide
looking glass land.
Knows that
this other
self
will take her
place, will
walk the
sky,
lamp held outward
With wriggling toes
touching the
silken cloth
of dew-drop
oceans,
Only to look down
and be caught,
drawn down,
so She may rise again.
