Shades of Brown

Shades of brown fall against your face
In speckle spots of color flung
From memories of autumn leaves,
And chocolate melting on the sidewalk.
Captured in your paint filled eyes,
Poems of brunette locks
Written with you bristled pen
In slowly fading candlelight.
Illuminating
The maze of sepia tones
That line your fingers
Like cracked earth or
Soil dropped in patches
On a porcelain floor.
I wish I had your
Two-toned skin.
